Free Weekly Planner (Printable)
A weekly planner is a definite necessity if staying
organised is one of your goals for the coming year. I've tried a ton of
planners over the years, and I've concluded that I need one to keep things
straightforward. This blank calendar is a huge help in that regard. I would
love to be the "adorable planner girl" with sections for everything,
but after the first week, I realize that it just isn't me. I don't use it, and
it just becomes more clutter.
A complicated schedule will be made simpler with the aid of this free printable weekly planner template. Be sure to download the free monthly
planner template for longer-term planning.
WHAT IS THE BEST

WHY USE A WEEKLY
PLANNER TEMPLATE?
It's best to avoid
too many steps if you're like me and want to stay organised. It's that simple.
However, I do need to be able to plan the entire week. A daily planner that is
too complicated for me to use will become a chore to complete even though it
looks nice and pretty and has so much information on it.
Just having a
monthly planner was too general for me to plan in any depth, so I would prefer
to have a month-at-a-glance calendar. Therefore, I use a weekly schedule to
keep track of smaller tasks. This helps me manage my time during the day by
allowing me to plan a few days in advance. If necessary, I can also plan
further in advance for appointments and other things with the help of the
monthly planner.
I make lists. I
enjoy checking tasks off of lists, which is what I mean when I say I love
lists. I feel a sense of satisfaction because I can actually see my progress.
The weekly planner template even has a section at the bottom for ideas and
items I don't want to forget during the week—a "brain dump," if you
will.
This weekly planner
won't likely work for you if you have a lot of meetings and commitments during
the day; a daily planner would likely be more useful. The weekly planner allows
me to focus on the big picture, without getting too bogged down in daily
details. At the weekly level, you can build on your goals and think about how
they translate into your daily actions.
A weekly overview can be used for more than just monitoring your work schedule. I hope this weekly calendar will be useful to you if you need a place to keep a few reminders of things you need to do for both work and pleasure.
HOW IS A WEEKLY
PLANNER USED?
I have a pretty schedule template that you can print if you
share my love for weekly planners (just click the link below the image)!
With having depression, part of building resilience to
day-to-day doom and gloom that’s repeated on the news or in newspapers, I am
focusing on being thankful, so you will see a spot to write that down every
day. I would love to keep a gratitude journal, but I know myself too well to do
that. At least I can take a moment each day to express my gratitude and write
it down on my weekly agenda.
There are some things I want to try to do every day, like drinking
water, brushing the areas that get a lot of traffic, and walking the dog. For each
day of the week, there is a small checkbox that you can put in.
You can put your weekly goals in this designated area.
Are you ready for some productive weekly planning? If you
set goals this year, it truly helps to keep them in full view — always working
on them! If you use the weekend for projects, family activities, and fun you
will have plenty of room to write those down, too.
6 TIPS FOR USING A
WEEKLY PLANNER
· Check your planner first thing in the morning and once before ending your day. Be sure to add any new appointments or new tasks. Checking in often will keep you on track.
· Make your tasks specific.
· If you’re a visual person, use different coloured pens or stickers to help separate different types of tasks at a glance.
· Try to keep everything on this sheet. Multiple planning pages of notes and lists will only cause confusion.
· Don’t over-schedule. Allow time in your day for unexpected tasks and fun.
